Data Recovery Software List

Mon 6 Dec, 2010

This is where we keep a list of the software that we use / have used professionally in Data Recovery and Computer Forensics. If you have any suggestions - feel free to contact us

BenchMark HQ

A great amount of free hard drive software including links to MHDD 4.6 and Victoria for Dos and Windows. Keep in mind these tools work on Secondary Drives and usually disable the primary controller for obvious reasons. While they are Russian programs but have English Versions.

GetDataBack and DiskExplorer

http://www.Runtime.org
I have found that the tools from Runtime.org are extremely useful I use them often in my recovery work for NTFS and FAT Drives.  I suggest that you tryDiskExplorer for  a hard drive that has sector damage as it will allow you to skip other data and go straight to the data you are looking for and extract it. GetDataBack is great if you can read the disk and have limited damage, but DiskExplorer is the real gem once you understand and have experience with it.

Other Useful Software I have used you may want to try.
